Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way. Shawls can be knitted, crocheted, woven, sewn, quilted, machined knitted, etc.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is one in which about 2 dozen parishioners with an unknown number of anonymous knitters too. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month in Room 4.
Primarily we offer the shawls to our congregants and their families and friends in need of a comforting wrap filled with love, prayers, and encouragement. The shawls are knitted, crocheted, and woven. In all yarns and in a riot of colors. We also donate shawls to the UCLA Hospital Chaplain tor distribution to those patients who have no family or friends to comfort them.
If you do not know how to knit/crochet it's OK! We can teach you in just a lesson or two! Come and join us. Think of the fun you can have creating such loving gifts using your own ideas in patterns and yarns and the whole gambit of colors. 4th Wednesday, 6:
