Stewardship Sunday 10/25

At St. Cross, we believe joy, discipleship, and community are foundational to our faith and to deepening and growing our relationship with God. St. Cross envisions being a church where we unconditionally welcome all to our St. Cross community, worship joyfully each Sunday, build relationships with our neighbors through outreach and service, and support each other as we grow in discipleship.
Giving is a spiritual practice, an expression of gratitude for God’s abundance and a way of participating in God’s work in the world. We are invited to give of our full selves—our skills and abilities, as well as proportional giving. Every pledge, regardless of size, is an act of thankfulness, generosity, and faith. Your pledge is a crucial part of the life and future of St. Cross. One way to approach your pledge is through proportional giving, choosing a percentage of your income to give to God’s work through St. Cross. The biblical tradition of the tithe, 10%, is one guide to giving. For some, however, proportional giving begins at a different place. What matters is making a prayerful decision about the proportion that is right for you and your family. As you prayerfully consider your pledge, you are invited to make a meaningful commitment that reflects St. Cross as a priority in your spiritual life.
On Sunday October 25th, we will submit our pledges for 2027 as a community during the one service at 10am, concluding with a blessing of the pledges submitted and handing out a small keepsake as a symbol and reminder of your pledge to St. Cross. If you will not be able to be in attendance on October 25th, please contact the office to submit your pledge in advance, so it will be included in the parish blessing.
Your giving in joy as a spiritual practice gives St. Cross the ability to continue our shared ministry, wisely manage our investments for the future, and reflect our values of environmental stewardship and beauty in our buildings and grounds. We offer thanks for the 120 years of faithful ministry at St. Cross and we look toward the future with confidence in hope and trust in God’s call.
Note: It is traditional to wear red for Stewardship Sunday, but since it is so close to Halloween we encourage your young ones to wear their Halloween costumes!
