We know what the kids are doing, but what about the adults?
We know the children and youth go to Christian Formation (once known as Sunday School) at the 9 am hour. But what about the adults?
There is indeed faith formation for adults also at the 9am hour. We start this Sunday!! The clergy lead scripture study, and answer theology and liturgy questions. Our hope is for you to deepen your faith not only in worship, but by study too. We meet in the Guild Room from 9-9:45. You need not have read ahead, even when we are working our way through a book. Conversation is lively. Pop in. We promise not to make you talk if you don’t want to.
For those of you who did the Path with us at the end of 2021, this is a continuation, if you will. Here is a publisher’s blurb about the book we will be using:
Living Discipleship: Practicing Our Faith offers a survey of the basic beliefs and practices of the Episcopal Church, focused especially on The Book of Common Prayer and our liturgical and sacramental traditions. These beliefs and practices remind us that we are the inheritors of the immeasurable greatness of God’s power that transforms each of us and strengthens us to serve the world in Christ’s name. In practicing our faith, we learn how to live as disciples, not merely one day a week but every day of the week.
The book will be available for sale this coming Sunday (and if you need a book but can’t pay, just let a clergy person know). Again, drop by the Guild Room as we deepen our faith together.
Peace,
The St. Cross Clergy
