Two Items of Note This Sunday

Masking
Several people have asked me where we are on masking, so I thought I would outline where we are on campus at this time. Masking is strongly recommended, but no longer required. LA County said masks were no longer required indoors, but on the”Houses of Worship” informational call, they continue to strongly recommend masking due to close proximity and singing. However, as you know, they are no longer required. This is great news for some and disappointing for others.

If you see someone wearing a mask, know that we have many in our community who are doing so in order to protect other vulnerable people in their lives (for example, infants or immunocompromised individuals). We strive to create an environment that is safe for all to worship and participate, and we encourage a sense of mutual respect and understanding for each individual.

The choir will continue to mask. Clergy will continue to mask unless preaching or celebrating the Eucharist.

Ukraine
We have all been devastated by the situation in Ukraine. Some of us feel the call to say something, some of us don’t know what to do. Yet all of us are called to pray. We will have a small memorial altar in the chapel this week in honor of Ukraine. You are welcome to stop, light a candle, say a prayer, and/or scan a code to make a donation. It is one small step that the members of St. Cross can do to shine God’s light on those desperately in need.
