Letter from Rev. Nathan

To the Congregation of St. Cross,

I am looking forwarding to see you this Sunday, which is my last Sunday at St. Cross. During this past three years, I have been blessed to have been invited into your lives and for you to share your spiritual journey with me.

Although none of us could have imagined what it would be like to live through a pandemic, I have found ministering with you, to those around us, to be a great joy. Your creativity and willingness to explore new models of ministry has been encouraging and brought me much delight. Whether on Compline or online services, we found new ways of meaningfully building community and connection. I am glad to have been a part of the community of St. Cross where I felt God’s work through my ministry welcomed, embraced, and valued.

The St. Cross community is a special place because who you are and the work that God is doing among you. I am so thankful to have been a part of it.

As I now transition to lead the parish St. Wilfrid’s of York in Huntington Beach as their Rector, I would not have had this opportunity without the leadership and guidance of Rev. Rachel and the Vestry. I am also thankful for Rev. Patti, Rev. Stephen, and Rev. Robin for their wisdom, guidance, and perspective. Trudy and Dave, you made working in the office a delight.

Lots of love to you all,
The Rev. Nathan Biornstad+
