Convention Delegates

As you know our Annual Meeting is on January 29. At this meeting we hear about the previous year, vision for the upcoming year, hear the budget and make two important votes. The first is for your Vestry members who will represent you in making decisions for our parish as a whole. They are YOUR leadership, and you vote to elect them. The Vestry will propose a slate of candidates. Please be on the lookout in future emails to hear more about the people who will be running. The second vote is for who will represent our congregation at the diocesan convention.

Diocesan Convention is a weekend in November, usually a Friday and Saturday, in Riverside. Many stay Friday night in a nearby hotel (and we can always help with those costs if need be). At Diocesan Convention we make decisions for our diocese, the wider church, including electing representative for our national convention, passing the diocsean budget, and resolutions to guide our church into the future. We also hear from our bishop and others in the diocese about important communities and initiatives. I love the St. Cross delegates. If you are interested in running for this, please let me know. We usually have a robust list of people running, and those not elected are automatically alternates. You can send me an email at [email protected].

Peace,

Rachel+
