Water Conservation and New Landscaping

As you know, St. Cross was given a gift for landscaping the front of the church. It was all planted about a month ago. And now, as you all know, we have NO OUTDOOR WATERING, including drip irrigation or use of hose until Sept. 20. So what can you to do help? I already have a home depot bucket in my shower to catch water while heating up (is anyone taking a warm shower right now?) and to catch any gray water while in use. I will be taking my bucket to water St. Cross’s new landscaping for the next two weeks. If you feel so inclined we would love your help so that we don’t lose all of our new plants. Keep a bucket in your shower, or even in your sink. Bring it by and water a part of the front area. At this time we do not have volunteers to come get your buckets if you are unable to lift them, but maybe you could ask a church friend to help you out.

Creation care as we move further into drought and water restrictions is hard, and yet it is an act of faith every time we regulate our use of limited resources. Thank you for your faith work in your own homes for water conservation for the next two weeks.

Peace,
Rev. Rachel+
