The Way of Love Event, Newcomers' Cafe, Refugees
There will be a showing of Bishop Curry’s rousing General Convention sermon introducing the Way of Love at 9 AM in the Parish Hall on September 16. We will be using the Way of Love as a theme this year, and exploring it more during Adult Education.
Copies of Bishop Michael Curry’s book, Crazy Christians, will be available at the back of the church for a donation of $15. It is a short, inspiring book based on a sermon. There will be a discussion of the book on Sunday, September 30, at 9 AM.
Reading the book or participating in the discussion is a great way to kick off the year and join in our parish’s exploration of the “Way of Love”!
Newcomers' Cafe is also Sunday the 16th after the 10 AM service! Let Cameron Johnson know if you will be coming by sending her a note at [email protected]
Refugees and Asylum: If you missed Rev. Rachel's note from earlier this week, you can take a look at it here. We are working to sponsor two refugees, a husband and a wife from Russia, by giving them an address so that they may be released from the detention center. Please see the linked note for details.
On 9/19, the Dodgers Celebrate Mike Welch Military Hero of the Game. As many of you know we have many people at St. Cross who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. This Sept. 19 at the Dodger Game, our very own Mike Welch will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game. He will be attending with his wife Candace, and their two sons Matt and Andrew.
Adult Pilgrimage to Ireland begins next week. Pray for our pilgrims on their travels!
The 30 Day Evangelism Challenge is underway! St. Cross is taking the 20 Day Evangelism Challenge. We have new questions we are posting each morning. Keep up and take part on Facebook!
