Sunday School and Blessing of the Animals
On St. Cross Day, our Sunday School classrooms resumed meeting in-person. It was the first time the classes gathered in-person since March of 2020. Last year, our Sunday School teachers found ways to adapt curriculums and teaching methods in order to help children stay connected to their faith community and deepen their relationship with God – almost entirely over Zoom! Even now, as we start to get back to in-person classes, we still find ourselves navigating new obstacles as we hold class outside underneath pop-up tents and in breezeways to keep children safe while we continue to live through this pandemic. Despite the many changes over the past year and a half, our Sunday School teachers have been absolutely incredible in making themselves available to the children and youth. It has been a joy to witness their commitment and versatility in making God’s love known among the young people with whom they work.
Sunday School continues this week. In addition to our in-person classes on Sunday, we will also offer an online option for those who would prefer to attend virtually. The virtual option will be offered on Sunday, Sept. 26th, and also on Oct. 10th.
Zoom details are sent in the weekly parent email. If you are not receiving the parent email, request it from Rev. Stephen by emailing him at [email protected].
Blessing of the Animals: Last, but not least, the Blessing of the Animals is on Sunday, Oct. 3rd! In addition to blessing your animal friends, we’ll also be collecting unwanted pet items (toys, dog beds, leashes, etc.) that we’ll donate to local shelter groups. Please bring any gently used pet items you would like to donate on the 3rd.
