Note from Rev. Rachel 3/25/2020

Dear St. Cross Members and Friends,

As we continue to figure out how we can best be in community, I cannot tell you how much I (and the staff) have appreciated your feedback. I know technology works better for some than others. We have parishioners who are willing to help others get better connected if they have the basics (internet and a computer) at home. Please contact us if either a Zoom meeting or Sunday service or evening Compline (which you DO need facebook for) is a challenge for you.

As of right now we have Compline every night at 7 pm on our Facebook page. Sunday school is Sunday at 9 am (Zoom invite from Rev. Stephen). Sunday Morning Prayer is at 10 am. Women’s Bible Study is Wednesday at 9 am (Zoom invite from Rev. Rachel). The Lent series on Being Mortal is Wednesday at 6:30 pm. You do need Zoom for the gatherings. Sunday service can be viewed directly on our website at stcross.org/live.

A HUGE shoutout to Rev. Nathan and Cameron Johnson for getting the phone tree up and running. Another HUGE shoutout to Rev. Stephen for getting Sunday School up and running this week. Be on the look out for coffee hour, which we are looking to host via Zoom.

We also started our phone tree this week. If you didn’t get a call, please email Rev. Nathan so he can follow up on the breakdown in communication. Some of you were thankful for the call, others said they preferred an email. Just let us know and we are happy to accommodate.

The Vestry met online last night. We refined procedures for paying our staff, processing your pledges and working through how we can bet support our community at this time. A big hand to all of them for their care and dedication for our parish.

I hope you are doing well in your time of social distancing for all and quarantine for some. You are in our prayers. Please let us know if there are any pastoral needs.

Peace,
Rachel+
